Podere S. Maria is an independent and isolated farmhouse located in the quiet countryside of the municipality of Bibbona, province of Livorno, about 15 km from the sea.

It can be reached by taking a dirt road of about 700 meters. In the last 300 meters the road is private, with an access gate that in its final part is planted with cypress trees as per Tuscan tradition.

Nearby runs the Tuscany Horse Trail (“Ippovia Toscana”), easily accessible from the country road next to the property.

Surroundings

The farmhouse is located along the local road of the mulberry trees that continues and immerses itself in the Macchia della Magona, a protected natural area full of paths for lovers of walking and trekking in all its forms.

The Podere borders on one side with the Sterza stream which can be accessed directly from the property and where there are natural beaches made of river pebbles mixed with sand, a perfect place to give your dog a dip and maybe who knows try fishing.

In contact with nature

The network of local dirt roads are perfect for lovers of walking and trekking. From the farm it is possible to enter the network of paths of the Macchia della Magona a forest complex of great naturalistic value. There is a widespread network of nature itineraries, consisting of 16 marked paths that reach very spectacular panoramic points including the Belvedere di Poggio Cavaliere and the Passo delle Golazze Aperte.

These routes are also ideal for gravel bikes and mountain bikes that start directly from the structure to enter the rich network of paths and perhaps try the very close route of the prestigious MTB competition Gran Fondo Costa degli Etruschi.
For road bikes the asphalt road is only 700 meters away and from here you have access to all the most sought-after routes of the hinterland and the Tuscan coast.

For dogs it is a paradise. In addition to being able to enjoy walks they have the opportunity to bathe in the nearby river full of natural beaches of gravel and river sand. There are 2 kennels for dogs and a large fenced area with a wooden house if necessary.
